FAQ

Straight answers, no waffle.

Straight answers

Everything people ask, in one place.

How does quoting work?
Send a photo of the run with rough lengths by phone, WhatsApp or the form. Straightforward jobs get a fixed written figure from that; anything with questions in it gets a free survey visit first. The figure quoted is the figure invoiced.
Do you take the old fence away?
Yes — dismantling and disposal of old panels, posts and concrete is included in every quote. Nothing is left stacked against the wall.
Timber or concrete posts?
Concrete lasts longer in the ground and makes future panel swaps a two-minute job; timber looks softer and costs less on the day. We price both on the survey and recommend one for your ground honestly.
Panels or closeboard?
Panels are quicker and cheaper; closeboard — built board-by-board on rails — is stronger, follows slopes, and repairs one board at a time. Sheltered gardens suit panels; exposed runs get the closeboard recommendation.
How high can my fence be?
Up to 2 metres in back gardens is normally fine without planning permission; boundaries next to a highway are usually limited to 1 metre. We flag anything that needs checking before work starts.
Can you fix storm damage quickly?
Storm weeks get extra repair slots — blown panels and snapped posts are usually sorted within the week, faster where a boundary is open and pets or security are the issue.
Whose fence is it — mine or my neighbour's?
Deeds sometimes show a T-mark on the owning side, but many boundaries have no paperwork. We fit to your instruction, and we regularly quote shared runs split between two households, one invoice each.
What areas do you cover?
Loughborough and all of Charnwood: Shepshed, Quorn, Barrow upon Soar, Sileby, Mountsorrel, Rothley, Anstey, Syston, Birstall and the villages between. No call-out premium inside the patch.
How long does a fence take to fit?
A typical back garden run is one to two days including tearing out the old fence; closeboard built on site takes a little longer; single panel swaps are usually within the week. You get a date when you book.
Are you insured?
Yes — public liability insurance is in place, and RAMS and insurance paperwork are available for schools, commercial sites and letting agents.
